I love all my boards, but its a fact that some are more fun than others. For those who don't own a variety of boards, I am going to share with you: My Dream Board.
Deck: Any brand name deck with graphics you enjoy (If you get an ugly one, it will haunt you in your dreams.) I am not good enough to tell the difference between all the decks besides their width, but I highly recommend a brand name deck. They all feel the same to me, so it doesn't really matter which brand. Although brand names are more expensive than blank decks, they really are worth the money. mmmm... here are some great boards to show off to your parents.
Trucks: For my entire skateboarding experience, my favorite trucks have been independent trucks. They're light, indestructible, and they actually turn (a feature many trucks lack even though that's what they're made for). I am not currently using a set because it's so good that somebody stole mine.
Wheels: Powell Wings 56 mm. These are my favorite wheels because they are small, which make for easy board flipping, but they're also soft which is great for cruising. The bones wheels I have are hard as rock and although they're also good for flipping, they make a ton of noise and easily get caught on loose gravel when not used in a skate park.
With soft wheels, you can skate around at night without waking all of your neighbours. they also "stick" to the ground pretty well, which can be useful if traveling on slightly wet roads.
A long time ago, my dream board was the Loaded Ceviche, but after actually trying a friend's, I came to the conclusion that the best setup doesn't have to be expensive.
